    The Tommy Docherty one puzzles me a bit. Says he was replaced in 1977. That was the year they beat Liverpool 2-1 in the cup final. They must have had a poor start to the following season if he was sacked.

    Doc shagging the wife of one of the trainers or some such thing.

    Cheers for that! Sounds a bit like a rumour surrounding a certain Ronnie Glavin all those years back. Must be a Scottish trait. :D

    Aye, it was the wife of the physio Laurie Brown. I remember it being a big thing at the time, all over the papers & on the news.

    Man U,didn't actually have a manager,by title

    Man U,didn't actually have a manager by title,I believe Walter Crickmer was actually the Club secretary.
