League One Walsall are unbeaten since the 26-year-old joined on loan on September 28 and it is understood that manager Richard Money wants to make the move permanent.</div><div class="va-bodytext" id="va-bodytext">Said Barnsley boss Simon Davey: "Every player on the planet has a price. I'll listen to what the have to say." Mattis cost Barnsley £50,000 when he was bought from Bury in January. Meanwhile, Davey has given a guarded welcome to the two-week break from Championship football. With European Championship qualifying matches taking place this week and next, Barnsley are out of action until Saturday October 20. Said Davey: "The breaks come at some strange times. When you come off the break you have plenty of games - four games in probably 10 or 11 days. It's difficult but we had two weeks off for the last break and we've been unbeaten since." Barnsley have three players away on international duty - Nick Colgan (Republic of Ireland), Lewin Nyatanga (Wales) and Grant McCann (Northern Ireland). The rest of the Oakwell squad will be given the weekend off. Guest speakers at Barnsley Supporters' Trust meeting tonight at Oakwell <div id="ds-mpu"></div>are Barnsley owner Patrick Cryne and chairman Gordon Shepherd. The meeting starts at 7pm. Brian Laws is thinking of giving all four of his main strikers a role in tonight's first home reserve game of the season. He believes that playing away from the pressure of the Championship may help his front men kick-start their scoring form. So Deon Burton, Marcus Tudgay, Akpo Sodje and Francis Jeffers are each set to play for some part of tonight's game against Hull though not all from the start. Jeffers got off the mark with a great goal against Hull's first team but was hit by injury soon afterwards and is once again looking to sharpen his match fitness. </div>
Well............. i'd expect 100k for Mattis. That would recoup what we paid for him in transfer fees and wages.
I never saw the point in Mattis tbh .. i really dont think we will get 100k for him, hes no where near worth that!
How do we know? I mean he's not exactly had a chance to prove himself and he's doing pretty good out on loan and was highly rated at Bury. We should be looking to get back the 75k we paid for him. Be an excuse for Davey to bring in another foreigner on the cheap and make him worth a fortune (Y) (Y) (Y)
RE: Well............. How will he have gone down in value, when he's jumped two leagues and played in a few matches that kept us up
If we get offered the 50k we paid for him, i would snatch their hands off. No way is he worth 100k. I doubt Walsall have that kind of money anyway.
well I sorta feel sorry for Mattis he came with all the good intention and had some good press too...but our boo boys got on hm the seond he signed, he may or may not have been good enough but he was not given a chance on or off the park.I think he would make a wise move by going and I for one wish him all the very best of luck for his future.
Not saying i aint wishing him all the best, but hes not good enough and we payed well over the odds for him!
Every player on the planet has a price Including Howard,Souzza and Muller yes folks dont forget its a business, also getting gates of 9 and 10 thou wont help things.
me too saw him in action and didn't think he was that bad. definitely wasn't the worst on the park that day. honestly felt that given a run he could be a decent signing. before we went all international that is, but hey, we're aiming higher now!!!
