I think Charlton going two nil up might have helped

But fair play to everyone who went down, sounded awesome over the wireless

We went a bit quiet at 1-0 down.

Their fans were making a bit of noise to our right. It was when news from Charlton came through that both fans and players alike picked up the baton.

Plymouth started stronger and up to them hitting the bar we looked poor.

RE: We went a bit quiet at 1-0 down.

like I said in an earlier thread, I'm glad that all the games were played at the same time, as news coming through that Norwich were 3-0 down changed the mood around completely. We started like the players were shittng themselves. And, going one down, and deserving to do so as well, would have, imo, caused fans to quickly turn on them if the news from Charlton hadn't come through so quick. The first goal from the Valley went in at virtually the same time as Plymouth's, so we were down and depressed for less than a minute.

But once the dread had gone, the atmosphere was fantastic, and was kept up for the rest of the game. Great day. Just wish it hadn't have been necessary.

Thought the support was magnificent. When it is required we always deliver...

Would think twice of doing it in again the day, but it was worth every last bit of pain on that cramped bus...

Agree that the timing of the Charlton goal was crucial. If we had gone 2-0 down (which we nearly did) without that news, it could have been our fans singing 'You're not fit to wear the shirt' like Norwich's fans did at 2-0. The team has no chance once the fans turn on them. Our fans held their nerve better than Norwich's and gave some outstanding backing yesterday.
