Barnsley v Palace Match OFF

It's going to be a day off for fans, staff and players with the cancellation of the match on Saturday. The Safety Advisory Group and Police determined it unsafe to go ahead.
Despite the best efforts of the grounds staff in which they have been able to get the pitch passed to play on the weather has taken its toll and the surrounding areas are deemed unsafe for fans getting to the ground.
Barnsley have received an unexpected winter break with two fixtures lost to the weather and next Saturday's due to Sheffield United's involvement in the FA Cup. Whilst it will give players time to recover from injuries it is a double edged sword with fixture congestion likely to cause a headache in March.
New dates are still to be confirmed for the Crystal Palace, Sheffield Wednesday and Sheffield United games.

That's a right load of ............. ........ ******, might as well stop using the undersoil heating, waste of effing money
Nervously watching tomorrows scores see if we drop into dreded bottom 3. So 3 games now to rearrange plus perhaps cov game too. Twice a week now boys til end of season it seems
Good - yes i am being selfish been trying for weeks to get saturday off work without any luck. then when we signed these new players i was even more gutted.
RE: That's a right load of ............. Well said that fella. The might as well rip out the undersoil heating. No more snow expected, sun is out and over a day to lay some grit. What a shocking decision and could very well cost us big style when the fixture pile up happens.
Health and safety fears, its the sad country we live in,people falling over on purpose faking it saying they can hardly walk and putting in a claim.
im pleased too for selfish reason, woke up this morning full of cold feel dreadful and was looking at not going so worked out well for me
How much will the decision to call it off be down to police wanting a breather after derby match just down the road...
Blame the fecking council - Lazy gits probably ain't been out gritting cos most of em will have phoned in saying they can't make it in cos of the snow.
So I assume that the Sheffield derby will be off then ? I mean 30k people converging on Bramall Lane, can't be safe. Oh sorry it's between 'big clubs'
