I can only see a plan to rearrange for next weekend being the real reason. i.e. a bit more time for injured players to return.
You're obviously suggesting the match has been cancelled due to some ulterior motive As you appear to be claiming that there are no safety considerations. Could you tell me why you think the game has been postponed?
fecking madness just look at the injuries we have had with normal fixtures whats going to happen with 2 games a week and as regards the surrounding areas thats utter tosh **** me it will have all gone for this time toomoz
Seems to me the club were doing their best to get the game on Why would they have wasted money switching the under soil heating on and wasted time clearing snow from the stands if they wanted the game postponed? I really don't understand why you're looking for other reasons to why the game was postponed. If I look out of my window I can see that our street is an ice rink. If the roads and pavements are like that around Oakwell, which is only a mile away, then I fully understand why the game is off.
Will it be safe to go shopping in town tomorrow? Perhaps we should all stay at home until we are told otherwise....
hmm I live in Oakwell so am reasonably placed to understand the conditions of the surrounding area. I also work with lots of people from sheffield and they have said the conditions are similar to where I work in Tankersley, which are worse than back home. The snow was melting this morning and continues to do so. The forecast for tomorrow is also decent. I think given the choice, say if my key defender was out of action for a another week, I might prefer to call the game off. Just a hypothesis, I'm sure there's compelling H&S grounds to call off the game.....(dunno) S) S)
on a final note pig fight could be called off tomorrow at lunchtime as they dont have to travel from south london.
He's got eleven fit players and so we play the game. If Davey doesn't "fancy it" some weeks, well....
Pathetic. I remember going to watch us play Everton at home in the FA Cup in 1963 when i was a nipper and the snow/weather was a lot worse. We lost 3 nil
Good job they called the game off early Imagine the uproar on here if they'd not called it off til close to kick off, people already set off etc!
They called Sarfend v Scunny off at 7.30pm t'other night. Goin' mad on local radio. It was kinda funny.
