Was Collins on bench at Boro?

The website isn't 100% accurate though IMO. The website also shows we have no U18s players apart from Jalo who got a few minutes in the first team mid week.

Searle has started every u23s game since he started (I think) so clearly he is the u23s keeper despite not being listed as that on the website.

I agree savings need to be made. But lets be honest, Searle will have signed on a few hundred quid a week max. Not having him here isn't going to be a major dent in the budget.

Keepers tend to have longer careers than outfield players, they often play on well into their 30s and in more recent times we have seen keepers play into their 40s. There is no need to rush him through into the first team. He also has not long since come back from a pretty nasty injury. Give him time to learn etc. His time will come if he proves himself.

Its a budget we don't have though. We're obviously not getting rid of a player we've only just signed. But we've 2 very good first team arguably both championship standard goalkeepers. We're in league 1. In the championship I wouldn't have an issue. You have to save costs where you can. This feels like very low hanging fruit.

As for the website not being accurate..... well. Indeed.

    But we'll agree to disagree.

Layers exist for a reason. If you start stripping out those layers through the U23s and to the U18s then players end up playing at a level beyond what they're potentially ready for, and as a result their career nosedives.

You can't claim on one hand that Moon was rushed in to the first team when he was clearly not ready, and then on the other be advocating pushing the production line along at speed unnecessarily to save peanuts.

Way bigger fish to fry budget wise. Something as minor as this will probably roll on for ten pages.

I entirely agree and understand what you say but the signing of Searle was still seemingly unexpected.
Ravenhill was promoted ( according to website )from U16’s to U18’s and Flavell got a pro contract and 2 bench appearances for the big misters, so you’d assume he was going to be the U23’s keeper as another keeper was released ( can’t recall his name )
Then, out of the blue, our managerless club sign Searle…..

Sorry to be repetitive but we don’t need 5 keepers for 3 teams so looks like Collins or Walton will go

Perhaps we should send one on loan to Dundee United after their keepers performance last night

    Am I missing something?

Assumed Searle replaced Jinadu. Will play in the u23s, and Flavell the u18s. But if there's an injury, Searle will step up to the first team squad and Flavell the u23s if needed?

Rogan Ravenhill stepped up from U16’s last season when Flavell was injured so it’s assumed he’d “step up” permanently after Flavell was given a pro contract and shown to be an U23’s player as on the website.

Wish I’d never said ought now !!!!

I fully expected Collins to leave and now that Walton to be promoted to number one now he's that bit older and we play a slight different style than we have previously under Val.
