I think it shows how luck is major factor in how things pan out. Recovered from a serious injury sustained at Mk (some meaty tackles flying in that day) before that really showing good performance, maybe in the recovery had second thoughts and agents look out for clients, good luck to him Rueben should now get his chance I hope so.
If bad performances were a sign a player wanted to leave us we better get ready for just about everyone else being sold
Could there be any coincidence that he was due to make his 200th appearance on Saturday - eg additional fee playable to Exeter City, so preciptated the argument if we want to keep him? I guess not. More likely that Jackett liked him from the games he played against Millwall last season and dceided to step in. As Sam Ricketts is also a left back and is team captain, it seems a bit strange, but maybe Jackett sees Ricketts as defender and Golbourne as wing-back. If we did get the £700k touted, that would seem good business from our point of view, especially as there is no way we would have paid that amount to Exeter.
