May I just congratulate on everything you've done over the last few years. You've hadsome terrible flack , especially from some people on here , and you've stuck by your convictions. We are on a sounder financial footing, money was made availabe for players to overhaul the squad and we seem to have a bright new manager. I hope you get an excellent welcome at the supporters club meeting!

I wish I could find a post of mine from absolutely ages ago when everyone was doubting him and I said I knew he'd take Barnsley in the right direction.

Well done Gordon for what you're doing at Barnsley.... also for proving me right :)

    Pie, humble, eat

Am I ever going to come down? Never slept I'm bloody knackered, feel like a spotty 15 year old who's just fallen in love for the first time

Congratulations to all at BFC - there's a long way to go yet but well done so far!

    Gordo will be a hero...

... until the next game we lose. Then he'll get pillaried again.

Most successful Chairman of Barnsley FC in recent times

nothing short of a miraculous turnaround, given the state of the club when he took over. We got so lucky, look around the clubs in our region and in the Championship. Gordon's an absolute diamond amongst the rough of football detritous.

In time to come, we'll be looking back on this period realising we never knew what we'd got......

Last season when he sacked Ritchie

    I said he'd be remebered in one of two ways;

    1) Idiot

    2) A bloke with massive B*ll*cks made of steel

At the end of the season I said I thought it was looking distinctly like option 2 but it was necessary to go on and consolidate. At the beginning of the season I was very nervous and wasn'tsure whetherDavey might have made too many changes and it looked like another tough season.

I know there's some way to go and it's only early in the season and a few results could make it look less rosey, but I think Shepherd and his appointment of Davey is looking like it's on the verge of making a significant section of the Barnsley crowd look like pillocks for their bitching and moaning.

I never wanted rid of Ritchie, last season or the season before ... but it looks like Gordon knows more than most, and them pointing the finger and shouting idiot, are left looking foolish. His PR still leaves a bit to be desired, but you can't fault the job he's doing ... so maybe he's a little bit justified in going "off on one" occasionally. He's taken a lot of flack, that's looking like it could have been unwarranted.

    Which type will he be...

    ...

the one that can stop the time space continuum, or

the one that reads minds, or

the one that paints the future, or

    the one that flies, or

the one that has an alter ego in the mirror ?

I think, Gordo is the one that paints the pictures, Daveyo is the one that stops time and Howieo is the one that flies !

That's my explanation for it :D
