I don't get it ..... Agent : Adam, I've agreed a deal at Barnsley & Liverpool are happy with the fee Hammill : Great, i enjoyed it there i'll go sign. Agent : But Grayson from Leeds wants you ..... i can get you more money there. Hammill : I want to go to Barnsley cos i enjoyed it there, the boss was great and i liked the rest of the squad. Agent : But Grayson wants to sign you and pay you 2k per week more. Hammill : I want to go to Barnsley ... Agent : Ok, i'll go speak to Leeds and we'll see what we can do. It should be sorted next week ! Hammill : Ok, great. How's it work then ? For what it's worth i think Hammill will sign for us. The Thompson signing worries me ..... I don't think he's been on the radar until the last 2 weeks.
My speculative assessment Leeds will want him on loan, we've put forward a permanent deal. If he wants to stay a Liverpool player that might appeal to him, then we might be faced with having to offer a loan option. Davey knows if he has a good season we'll never be able to sign him, so its now or never. Hopefully sense will prevail and his agent will be happy with the terms we're offering (clause in contract allowing him to jump ship etc). All speculation on my part.
Leeds have the money to sign him though after selling delph. You dont get a much better investment in football than a young english winger with a left foot.
Who you suggesting is a clown? I think you'll find that agents get a cut of the player's wage so if the agent thinks the player can earn more money elsewhere they will tout them around. It doesn't mean Hammill's not happy to join.
Hammill turned down Leeds and Sheffield United to sign for us on loan So he's previously chosen to join us, why not again?
RE: Who you suggesting is a clown? Marcus Tudgay's agent Darryl "SCUM" Powell is a prime example of that
Doubt very much if they would be able to offer him the wages within their current structure. I've read media snippets from Bates and it is his intention to run a tight ship until Leeds get promoted. I'm guessing we've offered Hammill parity with our top earners, might be wrong, but doubt if Leeds are paying anyone £8k-10k a week.
According to Leeds fans I work with They're spending **** all and Bates is indeed as tight as a camel's arse, and I suspect he'll be banking the Delph money!
Thats the impression I got Grayson had been told he couldnt bring anyone in until both Delph and Beckford had been sold. They've a trialist (forget the name) that he wants to sign and Bates had refused to sanction, so suddenly to be offering to match what we've put together for Hammill just doesnt add up. A loan deal might be different, and I can see a Mifsud saga developing whereby we end up taking him on loan instead.
RE: Exactly Tudgay was touted about by Powell despite verbally agreeing a new contract, the agent fancied the extra cash, he got some as we had to change our offer but missed out on a signing on fee % etc
Leeds are being crippled financially again from what I've heard, the rent on Thorpe Arch and Elland road cannot be sustained on League One monies
