    - father Republic of Ireland born so Harry Kane could have played for the Republic.
    How many other England players could have played for another country due to parent/grandparents birth place or because of long-term residency?

    I think Jack Grealish and Declan Rice played for Ireland at youth level. I would imagine that all the black players would have Afro Carribean grandparents. They're good enough to play for England though so aren't going to elect to play for a lesser footballing nation.

    Owen Hargreaves, if memory serves me right. I think born in Liverpool of German and Canadian parents. Seem to remember a bit of competition between English and Germany FAs for his allegiance.

    And was also eligible for any U.K. country as he was born overseas to a serving armed services parent.

    That is how he qualified for wales, same with Adam Davies I believe, and also Maik Taylor, keeper for Northern Ireland.
