Being 1-0 up with five minutes to go and we are not finishing games off. It has been our achilles heel for the last four or five games. Inevitably the other team get one chance and they are sticking them into the back of the net. It's still in our hands and we need to go next week and pick up three points. That panic sets in the last ten minutes. We are not learning from our mistakes. We could be 1-0 up after 85 minutes next week and the same thing happens. We will have to be men next week. Try and go for the second goal and not defend the one goal lead. We took the game to Wolves today, we go one nil up and for whatever reason we don't go over the halfway line then. It's the pressure knowing we are five minutes away from safety. We all go quiet, ten men behind the ball, the gaffer is screaming at us and we are not listening. We have dropped ten points in our last seven. If we go down we only have ourselves to blame. The difference are the forwards. Wolves defence have only let in four less than us but they have probably scored 40 more than us. You are only as good as your forwards in football. They have four great strikers and unfortunately for us our forwards aren't putting into the back of the net regular basis. They do it day in day out in training, but for whatever reason it is not happening in games.
RE: He was lying it has been alleged That's rather a strong allegation to make. Can't see a player going to those lengths of his own volition. Or are we meant to believe that players are now instructed to lie about what their orders are! Most of them are oblivious to what is said on here and during radio phone-ins anyway.
what is saying is actually true though. once you're winning against a big club you want to hold on, that's why they sit back... on the other hand, when you see em at 0-0 sitting back hoofing it up, then thats the managers decision.
Hoofing it up at 0-0 at reading is ok, but obviously not when your're at home (whether your winning or not).
