I feel nothing but pride this morning.Pride at the players ,the club and the supporters. The players gave their all and the fans backed them superbly.
Not had chance to read through the board yet but I assume some will be on the clubs back again for not attaining a Wembley final .To you I will say in football as in life you don't always get what you want but not everybody can get promotion out of there respected leagues even if they're desperate to do so.What I do know if any linked players or indeed coaches were watching us last night they'll have seen a team and support all wanting the same thing and thats for us to progress and move forward as one.The support again showed me that the social media gang really haven't a clue about what supporting your club is and means to so many.
As a supporter I will now take stock on whats happened this season and look forward to next season where I hope we can get over the line back to the Championship.
One more thing I will add and its regarding Collins.I for one think he should have stayed and given a full pre
season with chance to rebuild stronger for next season. Those who call for stability must realize sacking a manager after one full season that ended in a playoff campaign is not the way forward. If we finish 6th next season do we sack and try again? I would say not.
Enjoy the summer break then get ready to roll again.COYR

Good post Bill. Hope you and Rob enjoyed yourselves.
We certainly gave it a go in the second half, and the players can be proud.
Defensive lapses and poor refereeing decisions cost us.
Another rebuild in the summer, but I don't feel that we need to bring many players in as we have talented players in the U21s ready to break into the side. 4 quality experienced players and a good coach are needed.
    See you next season COYR.

I get what you say about social media fans but I know loads who don't use social media who wanted rid of Collins.
He was never the right fit for our preferred style of play.
Last night has definitely revived my hopes for next season, as tough as I think it will be. Need the right head coach appointing and some proper targeted recruitment.

I dont feel gutted or on a downer following last night.

What we do need as an immediate priority is a coach/manager.

Followed by a squad re-set. A minimum of 11 players will be leaving us. The club is also waiting to see what the situation is regarding Sunderland and Callum Styles and whether they are taking up the option of turning his loan into a permanent transfer. If its a no we still need to try and move him on as his heart isnin it at Oakwell plus he will be one of the highest earners.

We do have good players to build around.

    Pines
    Connell
    Phillips
Cosgrove (showing us what he can offer when given an opportunity)

That's a decent spine to work around at league 1 level.

Was really good watching it on Sky but it’s a shame we weren’t given that whole end, upper and lower. It was hard to hear our lot above those stupid paper clackers they all had, plus the fact it was a big home crowd anyway. There were plenty of anxious faces though as we took over the second half and it would have been just priceless if we’d got two more and gone through.

I find it embarrassing that you have to give out paper crackers to make a atmosphere.

Decent second half but we only put it in for a quarter of the tie, needs to be some reflection and urgent action.
I’m expecting an address from the chairman/board of it not being acceptable and what they plan to do to move on and improve.
We gave it a go but let’s not get carried away and say build the team around so and so and let’s look forward with optimism, we don’t know who will be here and need an identity 45 mins of a disaster of a season doesn’t paper over the cracks. Could never be proud of some of them biggest one Kane get him released now.

Said it on 2 or 3 threads in past few days but there's one vital signing needed and thats the right Manager...Not coach..Manager. Most of us liked Duff's vision of a long term building project ..No punts, No dodgy "Why have we bought him" deals. trim unwanted players and bring 1 ir 2 quality instead of 4 or 5 maybe's...Yes we'll always have to sell but only for top dollar and not in a way that damages the team. Most of all get the fanbase back on board, I dunt kno owt but the extending of the early bird and the lack of figures about season tkt sales would suggest it's not good. Give us summat to support and we'll support it.

If anything that 2nd half left me feeling even more frustrated about how the last couple of months have gone. It's all well and good having a go when the games gone but we should have been going at them at 0 0 at oakwell, they didnt know what to do when we went at them. We should have been going at teams in that last stretch of games instead of limping over the line.
Great 2nd half performance and one I want to see replicatednon a regular basis next season, unfortunately it was too little too late

    Roll on August, you reds
