At least with Luton they’ve got some physicality with Morris, Brown & Adebayo. I don’t really see anyway that Sheff Utd can get at opponents. Other than at Bournemouth, Burnley & Luton I don’t think there’s a single Sheff Utd player that gets in another prem side. I genuinely think they’re just happy to bank the money.
They/Luton still might, hopefully. It now depends on the Sheff Ure owners, and what they do next. Are they going to sympathise with Hecky, and give him X more games to show some sort of improvement. I can't see that happening to be honest, so another option is does he quit.. again!.
Didn't they pay 25 million for hamer from Coventry? And I don't think you can class brown as a physical player that's not his best attributes. Been reading abit of united fans views and listening to talksport where one of their fans rang in. There complaint is that when they get the ball they seem to have no plan and can't put 3 passes together. I knew it was going to be tough for Sheffield United but 1 point in 10 games is getting embarrassing.
No doubt it’s embarrassing. I honestly don’t think the club care. There was talk of administration not so long back & they’ve only spent what they’ve recouped in sales. Even Hamer, he’s a very good championship player but would a Everton, Wolves, Fulham, Brentford, Palace etc start him? I’d guess probably not & they’re the sides likely to finish 11th-16th who they need to compete with to stay up.
15million is alot in comparison luton towns most expensive summer signing it's 5.8 million the lad from wolves. United have conceded 29 goals in 10 games its the worst start in 10 games in premier league history.
That’salmost nothing in PL terms a couple of months of Haalands wages. Luton will also get relegated and didn’t sell their best 2 players just before the start of the season. By your reckoning Burnley should sack Kompany and Luton Rob Edwards I know you can’t stand a local guy who’s done well but I doubt whether an amalgam of Alex Ferguson and Brian Clough could keep United up. Hecky performed a minor miracle getting them up and it must be the expectation of going straight back down. Of the 3 that went up you’d imagine only Burnley gave a chance of staying up.
Hecky performed a minor miracle getting them up? Really? They had a great squad for the championship the best midfield in the league in berger. A good striker in mcburnie, ndayie who was a class above and the 2 lads from city. It wasn't that big of a achievement to finish 2nd with the squad they had and the quality of last season's championship. I know hes abit of a local hero to some on here but to get 1 point in 10 games is massively embarrassing and concede 29 goals in 10 games if they carry on like that they will concede about 110 goals over the course of the season.
Edit: Can't be bothered. Hecky could win 20 out of 22, and some thickos on here would moan that he should have won the other 2.
Hecky lost away to Arsenal in the PL with a Championship squad. Morais lost at home to Burton Albion with a Championship squad.
Golden boy on his record for the season based on points per game and goal difference. would have kept us up on goal difference. Anyone can produce selective stats to try prove a point. Not saying Hecky pulled any trees up that season, but Morais was absolute cack. And that's being kind.
Yet Cryne was aware .and so were leeds. We struck gold by giving him a new contract a few days earlier and so did he.. make of that what you will. Winners all round. Except we went with Morais as the replacement. I'd rather have stuck with the temp. Forget who. Edit Paul Harsley.
Cryne was terminally ill and had just sold the club. We were dropping like a stone before he jumped ship to Leeds we hadn't won a game for 2 months. We were going one direction.
Do you think he was offered a little more money to manage Leeds? Do you consider that when you are offered a better job and you have a young family you would do the best for them and yourself?
Don't begrudge anyone jumping ship for more money it was a blessing in disguise that leeds came in for him. Any decent manager in the 1st half or 2nd half of that season and we would have stayed up.
