Hello there!

Hi, just spent the last few hours reading your (decent) site and watching out for what League 1 grounds I'll be visiting next year; Exeter & Wycombe - woohoo! But Daggers missed out on the play offs meaning I don't get a little London club hattrick (with Brentford & Leyton Orient)...unless Millwall lose in the play offs and I go the New Den again as the missus hasn't done it.

Errrrr anyway, yeah good site - certainly better than the "best Barnsley forum on the net" site that only had two threads! Was kept entertained by your many stories of troubled times at the footy back in the day. My only real addition to that would be making our way back to the coaches after losing at Molineux (but going through to the final on aggregate) in the Play Offs in '02. We were in the lower tier along the side of the pitch and they'd been spitting and lobbing coins at us from above all game (was the same in the league game apparently), and obviously they didn't take too kindly to getting knocked out - this was where the infamous pre-prepared banner reading 'You've Let Us Down Again!' was unfurled in the home end next to us! Me and my mate were wearing colours and were not watching where we were going as we accidentally veered from the crowd up a side street and towards a bunch of lads looking for an excuse. Hastily about-faced to rejoin the bulk but there were dozens of shifty looking kids giving sideways glances amongst us, clearly looking for targets. But apparently we had it easy as people were jumped in the tunnels and at the train station. For many years afterwards people considered the Orange (not 'Old Gold') Scum as our other hated team after Ipsh*t. I couldn't really give a toss about them now...or even Ipsh*t given our current predicament...

It's interesting to read your fears and anxieties about tomorrow, but rest assured we're all depressed and resigned to our fate down here. There's no messy registration/approval process (well, there never used to be but I've been a member for donkey's on there so it may have changed!) but there's no adds or flaming and they use a natty split-screen browser so you don't have to keep reloading the main page, plus it refreshes automatically for you! They tend to be quite receptive of opposition fans with intelligence but will shoot down any idiots. Hope you like it there...

Not exactly gonna wish you luck tomorrow, more because I don't think you'll need it than not wanting you to win or draw. God knows when we'll meet again as this could eff us up something royal and we're not likely to bounce back up easily. I just want it over and done with...

Which of your players would you recommend we bid for?

 

Lee Croft - he'll be out of contract and just won our player of the season award. Just about the only player that looked like he gave two hoots about trying to win games. Still very young and considering where we are and the fact he didn't play in every game, he still managed to get into the Actim stats as the player who put in the most crosses this season (170) - just a shame we didn't get on the end of enough of them...

 

(I meant player in the whole league not just our team.)

Just dawned on me:
We were the ones that sealed your fate at Oakwell in '02, so tomorrow could be a spot of poetic justice for you by you sealing our fate.
I was there that day; bloody awesome (for us). A two nil win in front of about 5,000 travelling fans on our way to the PO Final. We sung our hearts out that day. I remember your lot on the pitch afterwards baying for the board's blood.

Just thought I'd bump this to the first page, to repeat my invite. It's a bit quiet on there at the mo but then people were up 'til half four for the Hatton fight - I didn't see it but from what little I've read so far he's taken another sound beating from another better fighter - plus you lot have had to be up at the crack of dawn to get down to the South coast, whereas we've only got a couple of hours to the capital. But it'll be far busier later on, plus we have a rather fun little chat room you could check out too! I sound like the promo's guy for our site! I'll even be wearing the site's polo shirt today! Cheers for chatting to me yesterday, and as we've both said, whoever goes down deserves it so let's bring it on...
