It's a shame as he's making a life for himself and paying taxes. But the immigration services seem to be a law unto themselves over who they choose to deport and allow to stay.

It's unfortunate, but he can't stay because he's good at football If he was cleaning toilets and taking cash in hand as an illegal immigrant he'd probably never have been caught. So it's unfortunate that because he has a talent and has to do a legitimate job then he has to go through immigration.</p> However there are hundreds and thousands like him, who aren't good at football and still get deported. He can't stay on the basis that he's good at football ... what happens to the fantastic burger flipper when he gets caught by immigration.</p> There are plenty of established foreign players that can't get a work permit on the basis of not playing enough international games. It makes a mockery of things on so many levels if you change the rules for one person.</p>
