if there is a registry in the UK that keeps reports on boats / ships that have sank in UK waters?

I've had a quick look but can't locate anything, is there a government department respsonsible for this?

Strange request I know, but any help much appreciated.

I'm pretty sure there are regulary updated charts. Fatha-in-law is a diver and he's referred to something like that.

If you don't turn anything up drop us a PM and I'll ask him for some info.
