Been to Bradford on the beer, been to Rochdale and drove, sung more than in my seat In the east stand upper funnily enough for both. I would say being in a smaller group in an a away ground plays a massive part.
This isn't rocket science. I've been watching football for 44 years and the best atmospheres have been when like minded people have been able to stand or sit together and sing. In the terrace days this was usually the top centre and top left of the Ponty. When kicking towards the away end, they were able to move to that corner of the Brewery Stand. It's currently impossible at home games for the youngsters to do something similar. We need to address that if we want a better atmos. An area of unreserved seating or safe standing is the answer.

I love the away trips. Because (at this level especially), if the team are doing well it’s deafening. Bradford, Rochdale, Scunny, and this weekend, incredible noise. Makes you feel proud. Would love a good atmosphere on Saturday, on TV with hundreds of thousands watching.
3/4ers make a day of it & have probably had a fair few beers at away games. I think that contributes to people singing more. I’d also say it’d help if we didn’t keep selling all our best players & actually had some players who’ve been here a while who we have some connection to & have songs for.
