...just for the rest of the season. Leeds wanted him apparently but the Blunts wouldn't let him go there for obvious reasons. And apparently the deal is &quot;done&quot; and Blunts are stuck with him in the summer - for £1.2m</p>

I'm sure the deal was "with an option to purchase in the summer"

it surely must be - what happens if someone signs on loans, then performs like dave regis? the club therefore wont want a deal.

then again its United and their fetish for strikers - i personally hope it ruins them.

It looks like I'm in a minority here...

but I think SUFC should be a great example of what a well run club, both on and off the field can achieve. They are on the brink of the Prtemiership and have not spent THAT much money. At the minute, I think Akinbiyi has "only" cost them half a million.

Great Academy, good marketing and they've stuck with the right man for the job.Plus the directors have shored up debts much bigger than ours have ever been.

It does show that the Premeiership can still be achieved by building carefully, despite what AR thinks (although they are not there yet of course)

they still must have quite a bit of debt though.

an it was closer to 2 million for akinbiyi i think.

It was UP TO £2 Million

I believe, based on so much now, so much if he scores more than one goal,so much more if they go up, so much more if they stay up etc

I don't think so, I'm sure I read it was a structured deal. Seems to make sense to me.
