BARNSLEY Football Club can confirm that Ryan Kidd has been appointed to assist caretaker manager Simon Davey with coaching at Oakwell.

He's come to assist SD with the coaching/managing on a temp basis until we have a manager, then SD and RK will be manager and assist. manage of the academy team. Whatever job we offer RK in the long term, it's got to be better than managing some 15 year olds?

Maybe SD isn't the manager full-time, and RK will work with him whatever his job?

Who knows, but I'm sure the club wouldn't appoint a Ass. Manager without announcing we've a full time manager... Even we aren't that ****.

    Are we?

Barnsley Football Club are pleased to announce the addition of Ryan Kidd to join the coaching setup here at Oakwell.

Following the recent departure of Andy Ritchie and his assistant Rick Holden the club is looking to replenish and rejuvinate the coaching staff. The board feel that Ryan, a well qualified and respected youth coach, poached from League Two Bury, will be able to offer invaluable assistance to caretaker manager and academy coach, Simon Davey, in preparation for the match against Ipswich, on Saturday, and further matches until the appointment of a full time team manager.

As has been communicated in the media, the club feel it important to strengthen and expand the coaching provision at the club with the intention of solidifying our position within the Coca Cola Championship and enabling the club's academy to begin producing high quality talent befitting the first team with more consistency.

I'm happy for it to be used in whole or in part without royalties.
