Put it this way, in my fantasy land where I land the £150mill Euromillions jackpot and buy the club (after a 6 month sabbatical in various 5* hotels with Carmen Electra, Nazaneen Ghaffar and a tub of swarfega) I put in charge an experienced Chief Exec with knowledge of the football industry and commercial acumen. Then let him get on with the job of driving the business forwards. I'd like to think that anyone who truly cares about the club and its fans would also want someone running it who knew what they were doing.
Well if I could take your points in order 1. Yes, I want PC out as he is not interested in running the club and wants out himself. He has said this on record. 2. I would really like PC to recoup his investment, as he has done a fantastic thing in using his personal money to save the club. However, it seems that no-one is prepared to pay a significant sum to buy the Club off PC. If he really wants rid of it, and to put it in good hands, then a sale for £1 would be feasible if he is willing to write off his losses to exit. 3. Yes I would much prefer the club to be run by a small number of fans who love the club have the business nouse to enable it to thrive. I didn't mean it being run by the members of this BBS by the way, far from it. I meant pretty much like an old type football club board, local businessmen with good experience, some money but not multi-millionaires. Maybe a Chairman and 3 or 4 directors, with fans representation in some form. 4. I suggested JD to assist in finding these individuals, as he his well connected in the local community and knows the club. I didn't suggest he run it, merely assist to find those who could. Who knows there may be better individuals than JD to do this, but I guess it needs someone, much like the fella chasing foreign groups without much success. Perhaps if he looked closer to home we wouldn't need a JD type to find the people? You obviously disagree, and fair play, but at the moment it's highly likely we'll be in League 1 next season, with no board and an owner desperate to sell, but with no buyers. Not ideal from where I sit. The key to the whole thing with be the £1 sale, but I would understand if PC wanted to hold out to get some money back, that's his choice, and he's earned it.
