    Your 1st day at a new job in on a Bank Holiday? That seems ridiculously harsh…

    Surely you’ll need an induction, welcome to work etc. and it’s limited staffing as far as the training team showing you around?

    When i got the job at Royal Mail the week i started it was the Rugby League Cup final and i got the Saturday off because it was Featherstone (1983) the manager was a c@$ fan and said no for a bit of fun at first.

    I missed the Bradford game in 97. Had an interview at Saint Martins art school on the Monday for a place on their fine art degree. I didn’t get in. Did my masters there, though. Went to Chelsea instead for my BA & they turned me down for the MA.
    Swings & bloody roundabouts.. :)
