I was thinking something that i could plug in to a plug socket which would improve signal. At the moment my laptop's hardly picking up any signal. And Thanks Tony for actually reading my post and deciding to answer it.
Test your speed here. http://www.broadbandspeedchecker.co.uk/ Compare with what you pay for then if it falls well short complain. It's your distance from the exchange that knocks your speed off.
Where with sky. the computer thats connected via a lead thing (ethernet cable?) is fine but the laptop isnt. I thought you could just got a plug socket signal thing that might strengthen the signal and my laptop connect to that.
What %age sygnal do you get? What throughput speeds do you get wired and wireless? If the latter is poor, you maybe able to change the channel on the router itself which may help.
The best thing for the job is a flux capacitor. They sell them in Maplins in Barnsley for about £4.99. Work a treat!
would this work Gally. Sorry if i sound like a total numpty but i'm not that good at tech. http://www.solwise.co.uk/net-powerline-pl-85-wireless-option.html If i got the first pic that games combo, could i plug it in down stairs and have the box with aerial on up stairs.
I use them (different brand) and they are great if your wireless signal won't reach. However, you still use ethernet cable with them.
