It’s getting to the time for the new owners to start to bring investment to the playing staff, to get the club into the championship and be an established club at that level, that should be the initial target , otherwise it’s just more of the same a yo yo existence. If you don’t move forward positively you inevitably go back the way

They aren't going to go crazy. I dont think we will see much major investment in the terms of playing staff until we are in the championship and even then it won't be the first season we go back up. Mid championship table safety will be the first target.

I’d be surprised to see anyone brought in during the January window.
But IMO a speedy striker would be beneficial.

Why do we need them to invest, what about all the money we've made from player sales this last few years Can't we use that?

You would have thought it would have made sense to 're invest some of that pot when we were in the Championship but obviously that wasn't the right move.

There were some poor decisions made during that period for obvious reasons

I’ve not totted it up but I imagine that we have spent a lot of it on players and the rest was used to cover the losses / running costs?

I'm watching my father-in-law die of cancer at the moment. He hasn't been able to manage his own personal finances/affairs for a while now, so I can't imagine how anyone could have coped with the complexities of running a business.

Don't want to go back over the old ground of it, but clearly someone was making decisions or we wouldn't have signed anyone. Doesn't really matter now, though I agree with @Jay and want to know is that money still in the coffers or not.

Why do you want to know? What does it matter? We’ve got new owners, the “alleged” profit was probably used to provide for a family. That family can do what the hell they like with it. That will do for me.

It's all about the club moving forward with new owners ,or what was the point in buying and investing in the club

Because the money was going into running Barnsley Football Club. As fans we do have a right to know a little bit about how much our club can spend, without getting into a huge defecit with our new owners, seeing as we pay our hard earned towards supporting it.

That's how I see it. I can't see how the new owners would get what was in the club's business account.

So you're suggesting that all the money that we recouped from selling players went to Patrick Cryne (or his family)?

Call it curiosity. Did we flog off all players to secure the future of the club or to make a profit for the owner and his family. Either answer is acceptable I'd just like to know.
