Going to Palace on loan now for a month apparently - think Holloway was always a fan of his when he was with us.
Holloway said he was the best young midfielder in the Championship last year. Reckon he was right too. Hope he can regain his pre-injury form
shame we aint been in for him again! Could be just what we need to get us hitting the back of the net again.
Not according to Bolton fans, a lot saying he should've played more and did well when he did start. Reight laiker.
Hill built a side around him to suit his strengths and deal with his weaknesses. No one else has done this yet.
Wish we still had him. Wherever he goes, if he starts regularly, in his proper position, he'll be a fantastic addition. Certainly at this level.
Norwich not wanting him, Bolton not wanting to extend his loan and now moving onto his third club of the season. Should have stayed here Buttercup lad and not let four good months go to your head
Another one of those big time Charlie's who thought he would be a star in the premier league. Adam hamill, Michael mcindoe and Brian Howard come to mind. Then again could be playing there next season if palace go up and he plays well for them
The stuff said on here about Butterfield is absolutely ridiculous. We'd be playing in the alehouse league that you're all scared of now if it wasn't for him in the first half of last season. He's recovering from a cruciate knee ligament injury that meant he missed the entirety of pre-season, of course its going to take him a while to get back to full fitness - and the majority of Bolton fans that have tweeted about him seem very positive. You've all got memories like goldfish.
Has he actually played in a Premier League game for Norwich? When he was at his best for us, I'd say he was easily good enough to get in a bottom-half PL side, but after the bad injury he should have definitely signed for another year with us. It would have been a lot better for his career in the long run as he would have been guaranteed a place in the side when fit.
I wish we still had him. Him and Vaz Te did more than anyone for us last season. I don't think he will ever player for a top club but the likes of Reading, Soton, even Villa could do at lot worse. He is still a top player at this level, he just might take this season to get back up to full speed.
I obviously agree, but I am biased. Btw, he hasn't gone to Palace, nor anywhere else yet. He's in the squad for Norwich this weekend. And I'd like to put it on record that it was Jacob who asked for a loan move to aid him in his recovery etc. Hughton was loathe to agree. Yet Freedman has bottled playing him regularly as he's defensive-minded. Trust me, I've seen more Bolton games than everybody on here combined, this season. NYD was the final straw. Watching Pratley, Spearing and Andrews doing Greening impressions against a Leeds side begging to be taken apart. Freedman gives him 10 minutes at the end and in most fans eyes he was the best player on the pitch. He's at a Premier League club, on a 4 year deal, and should he decide to seek another loan (as he wants to play football regular, unlike some) he's got the entire top half of the Championship willing to take him. I'm biased. No doubt about it. But even if I wasn't, I'd have to be a complete lunatic to assume he's made a mistake leaving Tarn.... Credit to Keith Hill. Saw Jake's talents, and utilized them to the full. *flounces off all high and mighty*
