    Fair do's to the lad.

At least he wasn't going to move to another Championship.

By the sounds of it he's had a lot of offers to look at

Good luck to him from me. I think he'll be an excellent player in the Premier League, and Norwich is probably a good fit for him - somewhere he can play football without huge expectation (compared to other PL teams) and a team that plays a passing system.

Unlike Hammill, Jacob's game wasn't based on pace and trickery. His whole game is based on his technical ability with the ball and his vision. I've heard people saying things like "not strong enough, not quick enough for PL" - well it doesn't stop people like David Silva, Jack Wilshere, Yohann Cabaye. If you're good enough, you're good enough.

I really hope this works out for him and that we can see him wearing an England shirt one day. He's exactly the sort of player English football should be developing.

For all the stick he gets I think he comes across really well. Doesn't seem to be the greedy little **** he is often described as, rather he wants to play the game he loves at the highest level. I wish he would have stayed with us, but it's not to be. Best of luck for the future Jacob.

Keef will be crowing about this deal inside. Yeah he will be disapointed to have lost him. However last season our manager improved Vaz and Drinkwater before they moved onto bigger and better things. Now early in his second year with us yet another player is moving onto bigger and better things. Keef is going to get a reputation of being a manager to work under. It's already paying dividends with getting Mido to come here.

Quality interview from a quality player.

Let's hope we aren't waiting another 10 years to see a player of his ilk come through the academy. Some suggest we already have a handful at the club, ready to break through. We shall soon see.

We've only got them on short term deals though, we may see 6 months of them...

    Nooooo, Gordon.

They'll play well for 4 months, and THEN we'll try to extend their contracts. The fact that 30 or 40 bigger clubs could come and nick them is irrelevant. - yours in sport, The Don.

I agree; I hope he goes far. Best Butterfield memory - a little shimmy before belting it in the net (2010-2011 season, possibly against Bristol City).

Hopefully we see a bit more the next home grown player who comes through with real talent.
