Not read all the threads but I haven't seen many mentions of Jim`s performance for us yesterday. He was terrific especially second half, one of the best individual performances I've seen for a long time in a red shirt. Put over some brilliant crosses and his corners were spot on. 100% workrate and commitment. Well played Jim, great to see

Second that. He was playing wide left, wide right, attacking midfield and central midfield too at one point. All over the place.

Totally agree a fantastic performance from Jim mentions also for Dagnell and Stones. All in all a terrific second half show with lots of positives.

    Agree Albatross.

He was excellent although if we play that formation again i would play him instead of stones. I think he would be bril there.

Simply cannot fault Jim's performance, was a very harsh yellow especially with how many times he let Lee Tomlin off!

Agree with that HT, O'Brien does his defensive duties very well and I reckon he'd be well suited in that wing back role.

Thought he had a poor 1st half. Outstanding 2nd tho.....

The roving role suits him, picking up the slack and attacking down both flanks, middle and everywhere. It does require Perkins to be a little more static than he would like in the middle but there have been certainly more chances created since the Wednesday match. I though Stones did well yesterday and would leave him where he is in that formation (Hemsie) though he needs to work on beating his man on the outside.

I've always liked JOB, he's not the best of players but he puts in a decent effort most of the time

Either Jim or Dawson should be made captain immediately, every little thing helps imho.

I agree Dawson would make a great skipper and with Luke being half out the door it would make sense. He has been a great signing and we have to credit Hill for that. But, with a new manager and possibly new players coming in, it is probably wiser to leave it as it is for now. Daws does motivate and organise from midfield (a section of the pitch where we actually play very well) and he leads by example like any good captain, but I wouldn't take it way from Luke and risk driving him further out of the club at this stage. :)

Disagree. Don't think he's that effective down the middle so stick him out wide, tell him to beat a man, put a cross in and that's it. Done. Just like he did last season before injury.

Agree Dys needs playing wide with cover for young Stoner. Play him at what he knows.

Too complicated. Been our problem all along. Play players in their position.

    Steele
    Stones Cranie Foster Golbourne
    O'Brien Perkins Dawson Mellis RNL
    Davies

Our best side for me. Not played the formation that we played our best football in at all this year.

No Daggers? Shame on you. Don't think you are far off with that team though.

He plays if Mellis doesn't. But Suarez might be the first name on the teamsheet for the foreseeable future.

If anyone deserves a run in the side it is Daggers (and Sir Bob of course).

Dyson, I think you are probably right with your best eleven & formation........ but do you think it leaves us with too many small players?
Having said that, we played at land of the giants (Millwall) with a smaller side and won !
