personally, mcnulty thinks he's better than he is. just play it simple instead of trying to be bobby moore.

McNulty played very well second half today. Excellent work rate and very composed on the ball

Composed on the ball? He thinks he's brilliant and gives the ball away every second attempt at a pass.

That's what I like about him, his composure on the ball. Looks very assured and can pick out a pass, just wish he'd pass forwards more often rather than going backwards, Smith also did the same alot today too.

Think that's harsh. He did well in midfield. Yes he made some mistakes, not many though... I want our players to have the confidence to hold the ball and find the right pass. I don't want them hounded for the first mistake. I don't want them clattering the ball because impatient fans are shouting at them. Sometimes it's a bit inappropriate in defence, but if we can't encourage our midfield players to hold the ball until they find a good pass, there's something wrong.

The problem is that he holds it too long, seemingly oblivious to the opposition and that is something that I don't think we should be encouraging. I'm not just talking about today but pretty much all season, centre back, left back or midfield. He's a good player and I rate him but I think he's nowhere near as good as people think he is on the ball.

Spot on Fired. I thought we were very patient today. We didn't pick the final ball enough but wore them down and deserved the win in the end. Playing against 10 men can be difficult but we've come out with three points and a clean sheet. That's enough for me to enjoy my Saturday night

Not saying he's a world beater, but I think in midfield, that's what he should be doing. He seemed to be trying to find the pass all the time. Having said that I think there were a few times it was crying out for him to run forward with it. Til Done came on, no one actually tried that, and I reckon if they had it would have opened up a lot sooner.

we were second to every ball today. its probably not right to pick fault as we won but i personally don't think we would have beaten 11 men today. as hill said the confidence from tuesdays performance was a bit frigid.
this tuesdays game will be a different kettle of fish and we need to be at our best and up for it.

    big tester methinks.

About a second too slow for midfield
