Some won't like this But would you back the ECB dropping him for T/20 cricket over the next 12/18 month. For me I think it's something they should do. They don't need him massively. Yes he's world class at the format but England have so many very good players. Back problem, So much cricket in the next 18 month. 124 days of cricket or something like that next summer with the earliest ever start and the latest ever finish . Madness.
They should drop all Yorkshire players from all forms of internationals to let them concentrate on playing for Yorkshire as to me they come first.
I don't think you can put a name on it. Their are so many players in that format that can play. Stokes will be coming back into the squad. Woakes too. Hales Moeen Alli. I think they are saying they have about a pool of 20 for next years ICC Trophy and I'd imagine it would be bigger for the T/20's now as they build towards been World number if it's possible. I think ODI cricket will be the focus but I can see the likes of Root Stokes Butler Bairstow missing games in all three formats just to keep them fresh. Do these players need to play in all the games against the West Indies and that includes the Tests? For me NO
