just having a few tinnies relaxing after the flight home from Oakwell and i must say i do like this product. forget that real ale rubbish...... if i wanted home brew...i would get a kit from the supermarket and make my own concoction. long live johns smith smooth
seriously I have always thought Smith's smooth was alright. No it's not as nice as real ale, I particularly like the Acorn Brewery stuff, York Brewery also, but in pubs that don't have real ale on draught which is unfortunately most for 2 and a bit quid I don't think you can go too far wrong with Smith's. They sell enough of it for a lot of people to agree as well, certainly don't think it's as disgusting as some on here would have it. Just my opinion of course.
Lads, is there really any need for that? Anyway, I find Leffe most efficacious. Leffe blonde is a very fine beer but the Leffe brun is a very satisfying dark ale. Go easy with the quantities though!
Re: John Smiths Smooth - Tastes bland rather than tasteless Its a cheap chemical beer which is made "smooth?" by pumping gas through a flat beer. You always get a consistant beer though - consistant crap.
Re: John Smiths Smooth - Tastes bland rather than tasteless Too true. And if I go into a pub with no real ale I never have Smith's Smooth....i might have Guinness or a bottle of Newcy Brown
Re: John Smiths Smooth - Tastes bland rather than tasteless I was up in Keswick last April with 5 lads off here, plus one. The WAGs let us have a night out and we sampled some lovely beers. Now Keswick is a real ale drinkers paradise but we walked in to one pub and found a bar full of electric pumps and no real ale. We walked out making a comment "there's no beer in here". I loved doing that......lol
Re: John Smiths Smooth - Tastes bland rather than tasteless I like JS smooth...36 cans for 20 quid in Tesco......got a fridge full.
Re: John Smiths Smooth - Tastes bland rather than tasteless at last a man with impeccable taste i see....beautifully smooth beverage ....mmmmm.... i love JSS real ale? do me a favour...if i wanted vinegar i would buy a bottle of sarsons
Re: John Smiths Smooth - Tastes bland rather than tasteless me too....fosters, carling or heineken...... heineken if i had to pick 1 of the three...... roughly the same but i just like the green bottle...!
Did you give Preedy's a try ? They had a few other types of Acorn beer on yesterday as well as the Barnsley Best at £2 a pint. Certainly seemed to be popular.
