I can't remember him at playing Oakwell

I think Les Ferdinand & Ginola were up front.

    Klinsman was later, I think.

Wasn't that game at Oakwell his last-ever as a professional?

I honestly could not remember him playing against us

You may well be correct about it being his last ever game. I just checked on Soccerbase and Tottenham was Klinsman's last professional club.

I do remember Darren Barnard almost goading Nicola Berti into tears though.

    Thanks,
    Stephen

Klinsmann was substituted at half-time in the league game after some woeful finishing. It still smarts that we didn't take advantage of Ramon Vega's sending off and win that game, it could've put a very different complexion on the rest of the 97/98 season.
