Do you think kell should start from the beginning of the next game?

    If so, instead of who?

    RE: Mcphail

If we are to stop the long ball game would we not need McPhail on the pitch?

I agree - the question is would Richie drop Burns to play Kell? What happened to Howard today?

Personally I feel that ball retention in midfield is the one area where we are struggling of late. The defence due to injuries does not leave us with much options. Up front we now have options and Wright and Hayes seem the likely choice.

It is in midfield where we nee to find something different. We seem to be second best in this department against most of the teams we play. Against Chesterfield we couldnt get hold of the ball, and when we did we immediately gave it back again. The midfield either do not function or simply give the ball away too easily.

We need plays that can keep the ball and stop the opposition from running the game. Kell seemed to have a degree of control that we have been lacking. Burns I agree has been the best player in this department all season. McPhail once match fit has the most abilty to unlock defences. We seem to play well when Howard is there. I think Richies decisions in this area over the next month are going to be the most crucial for our promotion prospects. Difficult choices to be made methinks - but something different is needed! Do you not think?

    My Midfield.

    Shuker, Kell, Howard, Devaney

Kell shields the defence more effectively than any other midfield player we have and Howard offers the greatest goal threat. Best partnership by miles.

    Instead of Burns.

Burns plays at high pace because he isnt in control of the ball or the situation. Kell and Howard are both far better passers and you are correct when you say ball retention in midfield is key.
