The 'E' key on my keyboard keeps missing when typing. I'm spending ages editing stuff I post because of it. In case it just needs cleaning, what's the best way of doing that?

I know new keyboards are cheap enough, but not got the opportunity at the moment.

You might be able to remove the key itself and tweezer away any junk underneath it and then replace the key back down (usually a spring underneath). A needle might help aswell, this keyboard I'm on in work is **** but even the best ones don't help me with my spelling.

Assuming it's just a normal keyboard then you can just unplug it and run it under the tap which might clean it or you can unscrew it from the back, lift the cover off and clean the back of the 'E' key to dislodge whatever is there (the keys should stay in the case, they wont fall everywhere) you'll be able to see if there is something on the actual contacts of the circuit beneath too and if there is you can gently clean it off.

Thanks, I will try it. Knowing my lack of DIY skills, this could be the end of the keyboard though!

May need to go that far. I can see through the keys that it's disgusting in there!

My Girlfriend got one of those rabbit things aswell but I'm yet to see its teeth (Rabbitt's/ not gf's).

I use my £4 pc line keyboard at home for gaming on while all my mates use £60 jobbies. The mouse cost about the same aswell.
