As the French might say 'Mange tout, mange tout'. Well actually, more like 'De Ja Vu'. Anyone noticing the similarities to this time last year and now? Barnsley set to sign striker (Constantine) Sounds a done deal according to the selling club (Port Vale). Player having talks with Barnsley - yet buying club keeps tight lipped. Move eventually breaks down. If it is true Parker came for talks yesterday then i would have expected this now to be a done deal. Alternatively, with Swansea and Notts Forest sniffing around have we got another situation where the player could be playing one club off against the other to get more money. More money perhaps - and an easier league to rediscover his scoring touch- with a real chance of making the Championship next year with either Forest or the Swansin and in a much more confident state of mind. I'm sure Swansea and Forest will be able to top any wage offer we make - as well as playing in front of bigger crowds despite being a league lower. :'( :'(
True - just as they were gutted when we signed an unknown German from Lillestrom, an unknown Brazilian from the Belgian League and that 'inconsistent winger from Southend who couldn't cross a ball' from Southend....what's his name now? Ryce or something. So if you had £200,000 to spend who would you sign instead for that type of fee that would be better?
I Think you are missing his point dear the fact that Prker has not made it in the Blackpool side hardly this year, and the fact he aint scoring anymore means that if he does not come then not too many would be upset.
I wouldn't sign anyone and put the money towards a chocolate fountain and imported Turkish Delight, from Istanbul ,in the Club Sweet Shop.
RE: I Think you are missing his point dear No - Im hitting the point right on the head. What I'm saying is you are writing off a player based purely on recent from/reputation and ignoring his better form prior to this. There are numerous examples of players failing at one club but being succesful at the next. Look no futher than Foster - and as mentioned, if you can't say who could be signed better for that sort of money then maybe best to keep quiet.
I tke your point...but was there any need for rudeness at the end hmmm and again you didn't get what was said...yes yes yes he could blossom he could be great for us...BUT again if we do not sign him not many will worry that much. I would welcome him and hope he did well, but if he does not come I won't lose sleep.
Daily Mail today claimed that we have signed him for £200,000. Doesn't mean it's true, but just saying like.
RE: Daily Mail Think it's true the fee is OK with the clubs, but the personal terms have to be agreed .... so it's back to what's on offer re: drinkin and shaggin etc. as mentioned on other threads
RE: I tke your point...but was there any need for rudeness at the end hmmm Equally there was no need for you to be patronising by calling me 'dear'. I did however choose to ignore that until you now comment on the rudeness point. (hidebehindsofa)
I wouldn't throw good money after bad We've already wasted £900,000 on Christensen, Odejayi and Mostto. Why we want to spend a further £200,000 on another striker who can't score in this division is beyond me. With that sort of money we could have bought Macken, Anderson De Silva and a striker who has some experience of this division who has scored goals.
I bet blackpool had a good old giggle when they got that phone call. Can you imagine the chairman going to tell the manager that someone had offered them 200k for the bloke that hasnt managed to score yet in 23 games.
