Good pace, Quick feet, good upper body strength, good balance, can jump using height advantage (a la Chelsea goal) wins a lot of headers can hold the ball up well and lay off . (last point often overlooked as often no-one following up and so no one to lay the ball off to/ head on to). Good workrate and doesn't hide when things go against him and when he is getting stick from the 'intelligensia' purporting to be fans. Minus points ... needs more composure in front of goal, often wants a second touch when he should have the confidence to go for the shot first time. Often takes the wrong option. Potential/vs age - one could argue that he should have learnt by now. Then again how many starts has he made at Championship level and how much good coaching has he had. At the risk of being shot down if you look at the above +/- balance, I still think he has great potential and I would stick with him. He is a bit of a 'sleeping giant' (in more ways than one) and may well come good. I get sick of people who say someones 'crap' without really qualifying it. Analyse why you think someone is 'crap'. In this case there is a lot of good things he has to offer but a few key areas are making him look worse than he is.

nice post tekkytyke. I like it when people justify things. it is exactly the opposite to nads + has scored a few goals, but not proliffic at championship level - doesn't work hard, hardly ever gets into scoring position, wears gloves even when it isn't that warm, fecks us over to go to QPR
