Buy a USB keyboard for next to nothing.

If it's only 6 months old, it'll be under warranty - Sounds like a faulty keyboard, get it returned.

Don't get me started on USB keyboards!

What the **** is all that about? You buy a new PC, see it appears to have plenty USB inputs and then find you need to use 2 of them for your keyboard and mouse when previously they had dedicated inputs!
At least I now have a network input for the cable modem instead of needing a USB for that.

And can you get a serial (or it it parallel, not sure) to USB lead so I can connect the scanner?

Generally have a bad reputation but

Legally they have to repair or replace it. Its clearly faulty if the Keyboard isnt working properly

    Returns Procedure: http://static.ebuyer.com/customer/help/index.html?action=c2hvd19ybWFfZmFx

    Items Faulty in Warranty Period

If any of your purchases develop a fault, and it's more than 28 calendar days since receipt, then provided your item is within its warranty period, you are entitled to a warranty repair. In some cases, manufacturers provide a specialist full on-site service and/or telephone help facilities for your convenience which we recommend you use in order to correct the fault quickly. For business customers all warranty repairs after 28 days of receipt are referred directly to the manufacturer ( unless otherwise stated)

    Terms and Conditions: http://static.ebuyer.com/customer/help/index.html?action=c2hvd190ZXJtcw

To return, you'll need to login to your account and go through their returns procedure. http://static.ebuyer.com/customer/help/index.html?action=Y29udGFjdF91cw==

They 'ebuyer' have to sort out the repair/ return, don't let em fob you off with any manufacturers warranty crap. Just quote 'Sale of Good Act'

    Nice one!

Beats buying a new scanner when I hardly use it.

But I'm going to be doing a lot of scanning of old family photo's that we found
