I know I'm probably being really thick here, but how come it happened twice? I was under the impression that they went into admin last season to avoid the -15 points this season? Can anyone tell me in easy words why they were punished this season - which by the way, I am more than happy about.
In short, I think it was because they didn't come out of administration via a CVA with footballing debts paid in full, as is the requirement, but via a takeover once the HMRC forced KPMG's hand to put the club up for sale. But I may be oversimplifying it, or just plain wrong.
I was talking to our rep from the Football Supporters Federation on saturday. At their national meeting last week, the Leeds rep got up and thanked the 18 or so clubs that he said had backed Leeds regarding their points deduction appeal. He was told that it wasn't 18 clubs that supported Leeds. It was 9 who had agreed with the 15 point deduction, the remainder thought it was too lenient!
They went into admin last season to avoid the -10 point deduction being on this season. The -10 point is for entering administration. Since then they have been through admin but when they came out of it they did not fully comply with the Football Leagues rules for exiting admin (ie, a CVA as stated above). The -15 is for this.
