We got as many as they would let us have. Maybe if we had asked harder we could have had another 27,000?

Amazingly, you've still avoided the question

Everyone is clear that Liverpool offered us 6,000 tickets.

The question is, for the nth time, did we simply accept this number of tickets or did we get back on the blower to Liverpool and ask if there was any chance of us getting any more? And I don't mean after the tickets had sold out.

If you don't know, which I suspect you don't, you're allowed to say that.

I get what you are saying and understand. What Supertyke is trying to ask is why more wasn't asked for beforehand. Not like we would have got them anyway. For example...........

Liverpool: We are giving you 6K, which is the max available.
Barnsley: Good thanks.

Tickets sold out and morning after we rang up for some more and got turned down. His point is when their was the initial contact between our teams and they said we were getting the 6K. Didn't Barnsley think at the time to say to them "but we will sell them out and so can we please have some more?".

I know, you know, he knows.

It's all just part of the way in which fans are treated like imbeciles. BFC tried to make it look like they had done everything humanly possible to plead for more than the 6000 allocated to us. In fact we didn't even try at the time when we had a chance of getting more. It wasn't a foregone conclusion that we wouldn't get more either given the 5 allocated - although I guess tha FA wouldn't have done much to help us.

Can't understand why Owen and City feel the need to defend the club over this debacle anyway. It was said that the club "listen" (to the supporters trust) even when it's been clear that they don't.

Speaking to a Liverpool ST holder at work, there was never a chance of us getting any extra alocation such was the demand at Liverpool for tickets. So whether the club asked or not (which I suspect they didn't because of the massive error in judgment they made regarding demand) is immaterial really. We were only gonna get 6000.

Hope you enjoy the discounted legends suite :) wouldn't want to ruffle any feathers would you.

If you didn't want to answer the question you could have just said instead of avoiding it.

well its just that you seem to want to ask

questions to which the answer is invariably going to be No Chance, ie no point at all asking.
Liverpool couldnt even supply all their fans with tickets for the last round against H and W, they wernt ever going to give us any more than 6k, why cant people accept this instead of the usual trying to make/cause trouble, grow up, life's too short, if you have a problem re this issue go and make a ***** of yourself and ask GS

eh?

Barnsley thought there was a chance of more than 6,000 tickets on the 4th/5th of February when they asked for more so surely they must have thought there was a chance on the 29th/30th?

there was never any chance

why would there be, dont believe all the crap being spouted, if you have a problem with the club contact GS, he will gladly send you a cut and pasted reply (wont be the first time he's been asked), the whole thing is wearing a bit thin now dont you think

the club asked for more tickets on the 5th/6th after we sold out

So they obviously thought there was a chance of extra tickets, all I have asked is whether they asked for extra before we sold out.

not unreasonable.

If there wasn't a chance, why did they ask when the tickets had sold out?

Bit stupid of them, what with there being no chance and all that. Maybe, if they had asked when they were originally offered 6,000 if they could have any more, they'd have known then. Supertyke just wants to know if this happened or not. It's a reasonable question. I don't see any reason why people are getting hot under the collar about it. I also don't think it's worth bothering the chairman about, as you have suggested. It's just one simple question that you would think could be easily cleared up on a trivial board like this without having to bother the head of the football club about it.

but a waste of time

them asking (if they did) and you asking, as i say i know Liverpool fans who were unable to get tickets for the last round as they had not been able to attend the luton replay (mid week) so didnt have the right points on their fan cards, if thats tha case why would they ever consider giving us extra tickets, if the same thing was reversed would we praise our club for selling tickets which could have gone to Barnsley fans to the opposition, admitedly they would be glory hunting part timers but better to have them on our side than opposition fans, no point arguing about it, its a fact, thats life

RE: eh?

Supertyke
Sorry I have been too busy keeping away from computers today to answer your questions.

My first statement was probably badly worded in that the offer of 15% was what Liverpool were going to supply to Barnsley as a maximum allocation. Contact WAS made with Liverpool on the 30th January to request more tickets this was refused by Liverpool. A further request was made again after the tickets had sold out, again this was refused, therefore the beam back was worked on as an option for Supporters to see the game.

Jay as head of the club he is obviosly in the best position

to be able to answer this very important question honestly, why would anyone on a trivia board know the correct answer

owen and city tyke are I believe on the board of the supporters trust

and from owen's original post and city tykes replies it was obvious that they knew a little about what had happened. Remember that Don Rowing was answering questions last week at a supporters trust meeting.
