Does anyone else think that lately we seem to be trying to virtually walk the ball into the net?

Couldn't get on to bring this up with Ritchie on football heaven. I think that we need to introduce more long range shots into our play to give the oppostion something else to think about. Any manager watching should realise that our main plays go down the flanks and we get into the area before having a shot.

    Agreed

and watching Richards score that pearler against Forest from about 25 yards, why doesnt he shoot at goal more often? The only thing i can put it down to is confidence. "you dont buy a ticket you dont win the raffle" as Andy Gray says.

devaney can hit them, shuker can too

i'm pretty sure that howard would have a good shot on him? and kay certainly does from defence. has does hassle really yet for some reason we get the ball on the edge of the box and instead of hitting it we try to take an extra touch.

The only players that i've seen this season that will hit it form distance without fear are wroe, jarman and to a lesser extent as the games went on, dale tonge. It might be down to confidence but I have to wonder if the players are being told not to shoot from distance or are being advised against it because the three players that were having shots were the ones that weren't normally under ritchies management.

Or maybe i'm talking out of my arse again
