I dont think thats right Our Average attendence in the promotion season in 2006 was only 9045 so I am sure a fair number of those games were under the 8900 we had today Lowest attendence since we returned to the second tier I think though
Re: I dont think thats right oh ffs people..... low crowds because:- a) we're not winning b) it's too fooking expensive to watch 'moderate at best' fayre. end of discussion
Re: I dont think thats right Even last season no league attendance was below 10,000 but this season we get one below 9,000. Before this season you would have to go back to the 2007-08 season for the last time we didn't have a five figure league attendance and that was against QPR on Tuesday 26th of February....... http://www.barnsleyfc.co.uk/page/Fixtures/0,,10309~2007,00.html Before this season the last saturday league attendance below 10,000 was the same 2007-08 season against Plymouth when 9,240 turned up. Today was the lowest league crowd for an home match since Chesterfield came on 08/04/06 when we had 8,303 and it was on a saturday....... http://www.barnsleyfc.co.uk/page/Fixtures/0,,10309~2005,00.html Football is dying.
Re: I dont think thats right Lots of clubs struggling - everton didn't sell out against Liverpool or man utd - that doesn't happen often. They only had 24000 against Chelsea - tough times.
Depends What You're Served Up......... Saturday/Sunday Norwich 26,440 Sunderland 37,062 Swansea 19,477 West Brom 25,522 Leeds 20,270 Southampton 26,630 West Ham 30,410 Preston 10,185 Sheff Utd 17,052
Re: Depends What You're Served Up......... So there you have it, you're completely right, the dreadful football we've been served up for two games at the start of the season and once again since (at home) are turning fans away...
