    It happens far too often , more so in the winter but it only needs one lane to be blocked at peak times & the A roads get snarled up

    There actually was an accident that day if it's the same day I'm thinking. Around 6-6:30pm on Tuesday? a lorry wrote a car off because of the queues

    I am not sue every place has got the same build up of roundabouts thrown into the mixer like there is between Birdwell & Hoyland Common which is a nightmare at normal time but there is also the Dearne Valley link road ( dual carriageway ) to add to the congestion .

    The bigger problem for me isn't when one lane is blocked but that they seem to close the entire motorway far too readily these days when they could at least keep one lane open and they don't seem in any hurry to reopen them either. Actually they don't seem in any hurry to do anything with accidents or breakdowns on the M1 these days. A few weeks ago I passed a stranded vehicle in lane one of the m1 at Thorpe Hesley. The matrix signs said that it was there so they knew all about it. I went home, grabbed something to eat and headed back down the motorway to meadowhall. Looked across the carriageway and it was still there stranded with no police or highways agency protecting it or anything and that had been at least 45 minutes a few hundred yards away from where two people were killed in the same lane after being left stranded.

    The biggest problem at the Birdwell roundabout is traffic coming from the roundabout and turning right into Aldi. That should never have been allowed traffic should of gone the other way down the parkway and past KFC and that way in. It is only a matter of time before someone is killed on the motorway due to queuing traffic

    Highway Agency patrol officers do nothing except ponse about in their fancy Range Rovers thinking they're police officers - a waste of snap.

    Different landowners so it’s not always that easy. Access could be provided to Rockingham Row from that side, but the different owners would have to work together to determine who funds what. Access to the Aldi car park should’ve been via Rockingham Row regardless - whether that’s via Sheffield Road, or a new access from the Dearne Valley Parkway.

    Wait until the new Lidl opens on the Hoyland side of the roundabouts & then of course they are now throwing a screwfix into the mix , total chaos on the horizon
