I knew him when he was a student at Barnsley College and he is a very nice young man who works hard to improve! He is very passionate about his football and aspires to be the best! He's always been a talented centre half and i think given time will blossom at this level! Welcome Robbo #COYRs
Yay. Another lad I'd never heard of, prior to reading the transfer gossip on here, and hoping he'll be as good as some of the other unknowns, to me anyway, have been this past 12 months (Berry, Hourihane, Winnall, Scowen). Welcome, Marc. This is the sort of transfer I prefer now, as opposed to the better known & experienced (but ultimately proving to be extremely poor) signings of Lita, Treacy, Frimpong, Woods, Fox, Mido, Tonge etc. in recent years.
Totally agree, Kev. Although I saw him boss Chris O'Grady in his last ever BFC appearance, but other than that, he's a mystery to me. Fact he's frum tarn is a bonus. I hope that fact helps folk chill art a bit if he struggles to step up three divisions instantly.
I can't speak for anyone else, Andy old mate, but I'll judge the lad on how he plays for us and am looking forward to seeing him in a Barnsley shirt. Also, as he's making a big step up, I'll cut him some slack if he doesn't hit the ground running straight away. I know it's de rigueur amongst our best, real & most knowledgeable fans to immediately judge and criticise our new signings (Adam Davies being a good, recent example of this), but I'm none of those things, thankfully.
I've seen where Birmingham City were interested in signing him last January, so that wouldn't surprise me in the slightest, old friend.
