Mario Balotelli had a typically quiet Christmas Eve - putting £1,000 behind the bar at an unfashionable Manchester pub. The City striker, held goalless in yesterday's 0-0 draw at West Brom, delighted drinkers at the Tudor pub in Peel Hall with his generous gesture and barely dented the tab himself as he stayed on soft drinks all night. He then attended midnight mass at St John's church in Chorlton, where manager Roberto Mancini was among the attendees a year earlier.
