Evans barely touched him, I'm fed up with this 'oh there was contact he has a right to go down,' there is no such thing. Torres felt a tiny touch, took another step then went down like a sack of spuds, that is a dive and that is a yellow card, whether or not there was contact does not come into it in my book as it was obvious the contact was nowhere near enough to bring him down.
I heard part of the phone in on radio 5 and some of the callers were almost hysterical. They should try supporting a club like ours and they'd see these inept performances by the officials on a startlingly regular basis. I've got no sympathy for the big clubs when they are on the shitty end of a refs decisions.
We have all been calling for refs to clamp down on diving so when a ref tries to I don't suppose we can moan. There were a few in both games on sky today. Maybe they are trying to get the message across. I would say that none of the players booked for it today were exactly trying to "stay on their feet" which is the catchphrase at the moment. But if that is the level the refs are setting it at then they had better show some consistency. Then it is fair enough, hopefully the players will learn and we will see a change in the game, I won't hold my breath though.
