Mark Robins overspent at the club and I was for one happy that he left. Yes he's a battling manager and once our backs were against the wall, you could guarentee he would get us fighting BUT there would have never been any improvement. I believe Flicker can steady the ship a little bit as he has done this year and get us improving over the next few season, despite the bad start. Barnsley Football Club don't have luxury players like Marlon Harewood (at that time), Paul McShane and Garry O'Connor until we become an established top half side. We have to look into the academy and in the lower leagues and Robins never seemed to do that apart from rating Noble-Lazarus.
By spending alot more money than Flicker/Hill did last season. Bobins has a much bigger budget than he had with us.
Not bigging him up, but Robins was the first to introduce Stones to the first team, Butterfield was eventually figuring, as were Clark and Rose. And Mellis and Trippier were quality loanees.
Forgot about him introducing Clark to be honest mate. He brought Stones in too early and I praise for what Hill did with him and Butterfield was also a better play under Hill as well. I've got a downer on Robins on how he ****ed us around at times so a little bit bias.
