He was one of the best on the park at Newcastle this season!!!

Give the lad a chance, he had a poor first game, he's not the only one! Some idiots booed Chopra for his first few games!!!!!!!!

I've seen Mattis a couple of times, a bad performance on his debut but still don't feel I can make a proper judgement on him................. to be fair, I doubt very few on this board can!
Doesn't help when you have fans getting on your back.

Course its good news. Barnsley FC are paying him while hes out of commission. They and most of our fans want him back playing and improving by the week. Dont you?

I feel a bit sorry for Mattis, got pulverized on his first full game for us and he has been more or less anonymous for us since. I think he went to Walsall on loan and they rated him highly with some decent performances. He then broke his leg and the proposed move to Walsall then came to a end. He must have felt like his playing career had come to an end, but fair play to the lad he as battled back to fitness and i fore one hope he gets a decent club and he as a good career in football. :)

what is my point? my point is that Simon Davey has a top 3 "wish list" in which Anderson is one of them, because he knows that Mattis isn't good enough, because he only signed him in case we got relegated last season, hence why we paid an extra 25k because we stayed up. Mattis isn't good enough, and it's not a boost that he's back and getting fit, because he's not good enough, that's my point. Sorry.

Another Player Getting Slated I See

It is a boost for ANY of our players to be off the treatment table and back playing.

no i don't always slag players off. I want odejayi to score every game, and i never booed him. i've heaped praise on Coulson. When Colgan wasn't performing i had every faith in him, even when he got booed, and the next season he got player of the season. I'm just saying, he's not good enough. And when he leaves us, it will be for a lower league club. I'll live and die by those words...

all im going to say is that its a big boost to have him back... not nice for anyone to be stopped doing what they love... good on the lad for gettin back to fitness.

ITS MY BELIEF THAT HOWEVER BAD A PLAYER PERFORMS WE SHOULD ALWAYS STICK BY HIM BECAUSE HES PLAYING FOR OUT TEAM. BUT THEN AGEN.... (doh)

    Too right! Well said

Ability might not be there, but as long as a player gives his all, he should always be supported. Mattis never really had a chance to show what he can do, so to be honest nobody can judge him too well. But as others have said, it's good for any player to return to fitness

oh deary me. I AM NOT TALKING ABOUT HOW BAD A PLAYER PERFORMS, I'M TALKING ABOUT THE QUALITY OF THE PLAYER. Ronaldinho might PERFORM bad, but he is a top quality player.
