I suspect we would only have to pay Fulham on any mark up over and above what we originally paid for him so if we essentially get back what we paid plus a bit and reduce the wage bill, it probably best to let him go. I don’t think Cawley’s heart was it it last season and can’t imagine he’ll be happy playing in league one so I see him moving on. TBF the guy owes us nothing.
He was signed on a free transfer. I would guess, but don't know, that the 50% only kicks in over a certain amount where we're deemed to have made a decent return on him. Fulham wouldn't take 50% of £300k, for example, but would take 50% of £2m. Speculating though based on other deals that have been similar.
