I'm interested to find that many thought Mattis had done well. I thought he ran around a lot but really didn't have a clue what to do when the ball was at his feet. I thought he was out of his depth. Was Howard on the bench? Thought I saw him warming up at Halftime but we were sat so far away from the bloody pitch it was sometimes difficult to tell exactly who was who.
Howard was shitting himself stupid I think.</p> As for Mattis, he looked Ok in the Bury friendly, but can't comment on him tonight.</p>
Thought Mattis did OK first half Won a few tackles, but looked a little lost with the ball at his feet.
Massive improvement on what we have seen from Mattis before. Thought he looked quite tidy when on the ball but he will struggle to add anything to the team other than breaking up play and passing it to the nearest man. But what he did he did ok, and he worked hard. Hats off to him.
He scored quite a few goals for Bury didn't he. I reckon he'll come good, the treatment he was given was shocking last season.
Not sure he has got the quality to become a good Championship midfielder. Agree about the treatment last season, OTT to say the least. I bet he was sh*tt*ing himself last night which might have had a bit of an effect on his game, but he will take a lot of confidence from his performance.
