    he seems convinced that Russia are coming to defend, guessing that he'll play 3 up front, Johnson and Owen either side of Hesley maybe, Gerrard, Barry and Cole in midfield.

    Thats an odd call from McClaren,

    He knew for definite Israel were coming to defend and we played with 2 up.</p>

    Also if a team is coming to defend why reduce your numbers in midfield as that is the are they will flood surely?</p>

    Didnt he say that sides that come only to defend - like Israel did almost always come unstuck and he would be attacking when the could

    Maybe Stevie M thinks he is bluffing

    Mind games

    Hiddink knows that a draw at Wembley suits them, probably prefers England to play 4-4-2 cos will know how to neutralise any threat, McClaren wanting to give the impression he's got options, but on the face of it, given the players missing, its difficult to see past keeping exactly the same personnel.
