Why is anyone even suggesting him? He won't come here , simple as that - he's getting into Newcastle's sqaud for some matches. If he went on loan anywhere it would be for someone in the first division for a month. There is absolutley no way he will come here.
he's stuck in the reserves By Gary Oliver MICHAEL Chopra's prolific goalscoring exploits for Newcastle United's second string this season have put him in contention for the prize of Barclays Premiership Reserve League top goalscorer. The England U21 ace has the impressive strike rate of 11 goals from eight starts for Tommy Craig's side this term. That puts him top of the Reserve League North charts - but he's still one adrift of Arsenal's Italian starlet Arturo Lupoli, who has netted 12 times in nine appearances for the Gunners in the South section and is the overall leader. Chopra may get the chance to overtake 18-year-old Lupoli on Wednesday night, when Newcastle are scheduled to make the short trip to Durham City's Archibalds Stadium to face Sunderland (kick-off 7pm). Lupoli has netted three hat-tricks for Arsenal Reserves. Chopra has also registered a treble this term, against West Bromwich Albion, and also has three two-goal hauls to his name. Can Chopra strike against Sunderland? We'll bring you regular live match updates from the second-string derby here on nufc.co.uk
he must realise he wont get into team at newcastle. i agree he would probably go to championship on loan. but when hes making these phone calls id like to know he has tried. although im sure we'll be told we have tried for everyone!

if the above story is true then he's at the end of his 3 year contract this month! signing owen can't have helped his chances and shearer will have to be dragged kicking and screaming from the pitch-wouldn't he be better playing regular 1st team football -preferably for us!? anyone know his mobile number!!
not going to happen, yoo good for this league and i was even surprised he stayed with us last season after abuse fickle fans gave him!
4 first team starts ever for Magpies-can't he take a hint?? seriously he should be looking for a move
possibly but i think he would be looking to championship. maybe he could come here again and put himself is shop windown i suppose, that wouldnt hurt.
Read several interviews with him. He is looking at his options, but at the same time he's training alongside Alan Shearer and Michael Owen - can't be bad. Shearer won't play forever. Chopra is a Premiership player and a move to a League One side would not help at this critical stage of his career. Would love to be proved wrong though.
RE: Shop window? What sort of shop? Always had me suspicions about Chopra's Tools... if that's the one I'll go in tomorrow and put some pressure on.
RE: Shop window? Corner shop. Mintys Treats. Found some info about it through google once, after looking up Chopra.
Chopra's Dad owns Chopra Tools in Byker and there are several Chopra "corner shops" around Tyneside that I am told he owns aswell. One on Bensham Bank in Gateshead. His first name by the way is not Michael its Rocky! On the football side - he only got into the squad earlier in the season due to an injury crisis. Now that most are nearly back to full fitness he doesn't stand a chance behind Owen, Shearer, Luque and Ameobi and the news today is that Anelka will be with Newcastle come January! Souness had only one striker, other than Chopra, available for last Saturday but he prefered to play Bowyer just behind Ameobi with Chopra on the bench! There has not been a hint of any interest from the Championship so I think he could be there for the taking in January.
