I don't think he's a fan of English football...... http://www.mailonsunday.co.uk/sport...i-English-insists-UEFA-president-Platini.html
hard to disagree with any of that to be honest.
I do wonder however, had Mr P been born twenty years later than he was whether he would have been tempted by £100K a week in England or whether he would have classed that as wrong? He is after all just trying to protect English football.

The so called "big four" Not sure about Arsenal, but Man U, Chelsea and Liverpool have total debts of £1400 million according to that article. One thousand four hundred million pounds! One point four billion pounds! Can somebody tell me why we can't just go and borrow £500 million, buy lots of good players and win the Premier League??? When is this madness going to stop? Total meltdown in football must be on the cards if this carries on.
RE: The so called "big four" The Glazier family have a lot to answer for with regards to the Man Utd debt. A successful club, financially self sufficient, very well run and then in comes Glazier and effectively takes out a mortgage to buy the club and uses the club as collateral.
I've only read about half of it But agreed with every sentiment. The Premier League DISGUSTS me, and is one reason why I've started to lose interest in football altogether.
It would be so easy to stop as well Clubs are buying players at the moment and paying for them in 12 months time etc and occasionally not paying at all (southend with JCR, west ham with Ashton etc) and all that would be so easy to put an end to. All transfer fee's must be paid up front, if they can't pay them then they don't buy them. Any contract can only be offered if the club can prove that it has the money to do so. Sort them out and wages will drop.
Agree with everything and I think that 'Luxury tax' would be a good idea, although I bet the agreed levels of salary would still be stupidly high.
RE: I've only read about half of it Me to. I have no interest in watching the Premier or Champions League. The European Cup was fine, as was the four league system we had, then the money grabbers got into it, and have effectively ruined the game.
I dont know if his agenda is genuinely with the fans at heart or if its to try and overturn the current "English club" dominance in Europe but its hard to disagree with much of what he says. Good luck to him
